FINALLY! An Eye Cream I am in LOVE with! Thanks to the ever-so-fabulous help from Allie Towell, (fellow makeup maven and part of the Artist Staff at Sephora), I have been using First Aid Beauty, Dual Repair Eye Cream, $40. Combats anti-oxidative damage. Minimizes wrinkle formation & strengthens the skin barrier. Brightens the skin. Reduces puffiness and under eye circles. And it is amazing kats & kittens! Question from Megan: Could you possibly do a tutorial for the different colors of brown eyes? I have very dark brown eyes. Unlike a lot of people with brown eyes my color has no gold in them at all, in fact, they seem to pull a little purple. Every tutorial for brown eyes seems to lean to a warmer brown. Megan, you lucky girl! Your eye color can get away with wearing more shades of eyeshadow than almost all the other eye colors! One rule to remember is any color lighter or darker than your own will attract attention to your brown beauties. My favorites are shades of blue, steel blue/grey, plum, eggplant, tans, golds, such as those that are in MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Eye Quads, $19.50 in Odd Bits or Assemblage: Depending on your skin type, you can also choose from any of the MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Eye Duos, $19.50 in Sea & Sky, Earthly Riches, Family Silver, Fresh Green Mix or Bright Side, Gallery Gal: Oh you have so many to choose from! One quick way of achieving a stunning, and light contour look: 1. Use one of your deeper tones and apply on the outer corner of your eyelid following the outer edge, softly blend toward the center of your eye, but keep a light hand, then you can apply more if need be. 2. Then apply your highlight shadow under your brow and blend into your crease where your lid and crease meet. 3. Apply either the same color as your highlight or a tone deeper than highlight, (2) but lighter than your contour, (1). Enjoy your trip to the makeup store Megan! Green eyes are so diverse in color, there are so many ways to enhance this color of eyes! But you need to have the correct colors. Color Selection: To get off to a good start you need to pick colors that really make your green eyes stand out. Anything with a red or pink base will bring out the yellow gold in your green beauties, such as Dior’s 5 Color Shadow compact in Stylish Move, $56. Or if you want to enhance the green only, choose colors like copper, gold, and chocolate. Such as MAC’s Mineralize Eye Shadow Quad in Natural Flare, $19.50. Remember to be careful while selecting color. If you are feeling brave and want to try a shade of blue, make sure that blue is almost black, such as MAC’s Eye Shadow in Contrast, $14.50. Otherwise, most shades of blue will take away from your Green eyes. One great way to utilize all these colors is to pick a deep color from your quad or 5 shadow, and apply to your eye lid and blend into your crease (sort of asmokey eye wash). Choose the lightest shade possible for your highlight color and apply to your brow bone. (If the color is too deep for a highlight there, blend with another highlight color you love instead.) Then use a black liner pencil and line the INNER rim of your lower eye lid. Apply a thin line of black liner to your eye lid, and smudge into the eyeshadow you have already applied. Then, line the bottom of your lower lash line with the same color as your smokey wash. And now you have not only brought out the pop in your green eyes, but achieved a sassy and sexy look too! Next time you want to dip into your new tones, you can repeat the same steps with the other color you didn’t already choose for another new look! The possibilities are endless!
